Dear Parents and Guardians,
This time of year the PTA normally holds it’s elections for the next academic year for the PTA Executive Board and to fill seats on our School Leadership Team. Normally, at this time we also seek approval for a budget, which outlines spending for the next academic year. Due to the unfortunate circumstances we are all facing we were unable to have the elections or pass a new budget. The Chancellor’s office has decided to extend the terms of office of the PTA Executive Board until a new election can be held in the fall, no later than October 31, 2020- hopefully in person, but potentially in a virtual setting. The pre-existing budget will also remain in place until then.
However, no member of the PTA board is allowed to remain in their position if they will no longer have a child in the school in September. Unfortunately that means that both our treasurer, Connie Grasso, and I will no longer be part of the PTA Executive Board as of July 1, 2020.
Although this is a bittersweet goodbye for me I am confident that I am leaving you and the PTA in good hands as, per the PTA bylaws, our Vice-President Patrycja Kondziewlewski, will take office as president on July 1, 2020. Please look for further communication regarding PTA elections and meetings in the fall.
It is with heavy heart and gratitude that I say goodbye to PS 205, it’s staff, families and students.
Stay safe, and be well.
